Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start remodeling my home?
When starting a home remodel, decide which parts of your home to update and what you want them to look like. Next, set a budget and find a skilled contractor you trust to help with the design, project planning, and construction phase.
How can I live in my home during remodeling?
Living in your home during remodeling can be challenging, but adapting is possible. Contractors can work on one area at a time, allowing you to use other parts of your home still. They will inform you when they will be working in each room. If necessary, consider setting up a temporary living space.
Can I make changes to the design once the remodel starts?
Making changes after the remodel begins is possible, but it's like adjusting the route on a road trip. Remember that changes might affect the schedule and cost of the project. Consult with your contractor about any adjustments you're considering to ensure a smooth process.
What should homeowners do if unforeseen conditions arise during the remodel?
Unforeseen conditions, like unexpected surprises, can emerge during remodeling. These situations are every day and aren't anyone's fault. The contractor's role is to handle them professionally. If unforeseen conditions arise, the contractor will assess and explain the situation. They will suggest the best solution, which might involve adjusting plans, materials, timing, and budget. Homeowners will be informed of updates while the contractor works on a solution to keep the project moving forward. The goal is to smooth the remodeling process, even when surprises occur.
How can homeowners ensure a successful remodel?
Ensuring a successful remodel involves careful planning, effective communication, and collaboration with the contractor. Homeowners should start by creating a clear vision of what they want. Then, they should partner with an experienced contractor who can turn their eye into reality. Regular communication is vital – sharing preferences, asking questions, and discussing concerns. Flexibility is also essential, as unexpected situations may arise. By working closely with the contractor, homeowners can navigate challenges and changes while keeping the project on track. Patience and trust in the process will help ensure a successful remodel that meets the homeowner's goals.

Sonja Gessling2024-09-30Edgar did an excellent job repairing the ceiling in our Craftsman home after a leak caused significant damage. He was meticulous in reconstructing the ceiling to match the home’s original aesthetic, paying attention to every detail. Edgar was easy to communicate with, thorough in his work, and made sure everything was cleaned up perfectly afterward. Edgar really helped me make my home beautiful again after I had some water damage. He and the team rebuilt the walls in the bathroom and a closet. Then, they redid the floors in the whole house and were very detail oriented in the process. Edgar pointed small design things out to me that I might not have noticed and I was very impressed with his attention to detail and with how communicative he was about the project. When there was a part of the project that needed outside contractors, like a vanity maker, Edgar recommended great folks that did quality work, and I was very happy with them as well. To sum it up, I highly recommend Pointvertex, and have already recommended them to my friends!Lee Sheaffer2024-07-07In a time when so few remain, Edgar Evangelia is a master craftsman. We wanted to remodel one of our bathrooms in a particular way to match the style of our 1920 Craftsman bungalow. Edgar built a beautiful no-curb shower, achieving a flush entry by trimming and reinforcing the floor joints. He extended the wainscot carefully matching the existing walls He kept our home meticulously clean through the entire process. I can give no higher recommendation. PointVertex Construction is outstanding.Rita Mitchell2024-04-24My experience with PointVertex was first-rate. The job was replacing countertops and backsplashes with the necessary electrical and plumbing work that it entailed. The result is an updated look and increased efficiency in my kitchen. Edgar and all the folk who worked with him were very professional, knowledgeable and skilled, yet very friendly and personable. I recommend PointVertex without reservation.Crystal Fry2024-04-18Edgar does BEAUTIFUL work! He adds fine touches, proposes creative solutions, and works super clean on renovations. He also provides GREAT communication and responsiveness. What a pleasure to work with... he's easy to recommend!Kat Trinidad2024-04-02BLUF: Truly impeccable work from detail oriented professionals. Last year our new home began to deteriorate. First a drainage pipe came undone under the shower and shortly after that there was a water supply burst in that same bathroom that flooded the bathroom, walk in closet, and garage on the level below. I was far too devastated to take pictures of the damage after remediation came out to demo, dry, and look for mold. Our first home and my dream bathroom and closet was looking like a nightmare. Even though insurance was quick to process,it took us almost 7 months to find the perfect contractor to restore everything. Although it was an eyesore to see everyday and absolute pain living out of boxes I am glad we waited, because finding Edgar and his team was such a blessing. He talked us through locating the perfect tiles and store stocked vanity cabinet, even though the previous one was a custom made for the unusual sized space. Once work began, his communication was great with notifying us of the scheduling and progress. The team was respectful of our space, ensuring to cover the floors with plastic and extra tarp, since we don't wear shoes in the house. The team cleaned up after there selves when using the designated guest bathroom daily! Although my husband and I work from home, the team’s working never interrupted our meetings or ability to work in the next room. Any work that needed sub-contracting, the workers were just as professional. With the amount of work it took almost 3 weeks to repair the garage ceiling, walls, floors, carpet, cabinet, vanity, and plummeting, but the finished product and experience with this contracting team was worth it! My dream bathroom looks better than it did before, I have my closet back, and the garage is back to looking normal. Edgar leaving two beautiful orchids on our remodeled bathroom vanity was the cherry on the top! We would highly recommend this team to everyoneand would not hesitate to hire again if we ever have future projects. * Pictured is the bathroom upon move in and after the repairs. -KatColt Fan2024-04-01Edgar and his team are incredible!
